    Pros

Stable company over all, Time-off, Good coworkers

    Cons

Leadership in Sonoco Display & Packaging is myopic. Cutting pay for dedicated salespeople who toil to get and maintain accounts. Freezing designer pay and outsourcing IT lowering morale and inhibiting effectiveness of staff. 100% turnover in sales leadership and 80% churn in over all sales due to cuts in pay and politics.

I worked at Sonoco Products full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Benefits - medical, dental, vision, 401(k), pension, FSA and Health Incentive Account.
Very concerned about all aspects of employee and plant operations safety.

    Cons

Work was not challenging - Did not allow employees to make any decisions.
All directives came from Hartsville, SC. Very fond of using 3rd Party Vendors for everything and were not interested in hearing anything negative about these vendors.

    Pros

Really enjoyed the team aspect of working here. Good vacation and insurance. Very good pay for employees compared to other companies in the area.

    Cons

Same thing every day. Everything based on efficiency, no room to think. Management always needing the "numbers" to improve. Nothing wrong with that, just not very fulfilling as an employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat employees as more than just a number.

    Pros

Sonoco really gives you a great opportunity to be a better leader, they will provide you with a variety of training to set you up for success. Their compensation and benefits packages are very rewarding!

    Cons

Be prepared to put in some significant hours! Some of the safety policies and procedures are a little over the top. All of their plants are setup with the very minimal salaried staff, you will wear multiple hats.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start the day to day operations exposure earlier.
