I worked at Siemens as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Incredible work environment, friendly and helpful people all around the company, interesting job, and a lot of room for improvement.
Very nice infrastructure, with cafeteria, clean and bright environment, open concept.
No defined offices or seats, anybody can seat wherever they want.

    Cons

Work can get a bit monotonous. It is always the same thing everyday

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid to use interns for more complicated tasks. Sometimes I felt I was bored with the job I was put to do.

    I worked at Siemens full-time

    Pros

Good company in general, good team, i.e. if you are in a technical department, opportunities to go on conferences, but not always.

    Cons

Promotions happen quite low, salaries are competitive, but not very high.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More team-building events would unite a collective much better.

    I worked at Siemens

    Pros

A very innovative company with a great brand and many very bright people. An excellent learning environment that is global in nature. If you want to get a truely global experience this is the place. You also will get in depth knowlege of sectors including Industry, Energy or Medical. The products are truely world leading. The opportunity for someone early in their career to be trained and groomed are exceptional.

    Cons

Matrix structure causes it to be slow moving and its never clear who is leading the charge.
Often people spend more time reporting internally the same information over and over in different formats to the various stakeholders. It is inefficient and at the end of the day, the leadership is lacking.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Embrace and live the new vertically focused structure. Give full power to the sector leads.

I worked at Siemens as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Could basically set my own hours as an intern, provided I still worked 40 hours. This may be division specific, as my manager was awesome.

    Cons

Pay was slightly below what other's generally pay for interns.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As with every large company, you have to expect a large amount of red tape. I would only say that their needs to be more set guidelines as far as what our division was expected to do, and what lies outside our prerogative.
