    Pros

MyRyan - allows a work-life balance, especially if you have a young family.
Some of the best professionals in their field work at Ryan. Excellent atmosphere and work ethics.

    Cons

Very aggressive recovery measures - if you generate money for the firm all is well, otherwise expect to be out rather quickly.

Current Employee - Manager, Client Support Services in Toronto, ON

I have been working at Ryan, LLC full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Employees are encouraged to make suggestions for improvement or make to make changes to imporve processes and are allowed to run with new endeavors or initiatives without much interferece from senior management. Whenever an employees takes charge of a new initiative they are typically acknowledged for their efforts.

    Cons

In some situations senior management agrees to or decides to take on some work or project without consulting the groups affected or considering the current capicity of the groups involved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When action items are assigned at Town Hall meetings a report back to the employees should be made to keep them informed on the status of the action item. When senior management accepts a meeting they should do their best to attend the meeting or send a note they will not be attending. Too often meetings are accepted by senior management and they do not show up. Where they do show at a meeting they are almost always late.

    Pros

Competitive salary for entry-level job. Small regional office but very accommodating for desired work hours with the MyRyan program.

    Cons

MyRyan program truly depends on the mentality of your manager/director. Although in theory, setting your own hours and working from home is encouraged, it truly falls onto the expectations of your manager and the office environment he/she is trying to create.

    I worked at Ryan, LLC

    Pros

There is a ton of flexibility with hours and working from home. Bonuses can be sizable with successful teams.

    Cons

There isn't a lot of cooperation between teams. Another possible downside is that the overwhelming majority employees are conservative. It isn't really a pro or a con, but it is worth noting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While having teams compete for business leads to some extremely successful teams, more collaboration might make the company more productive overall.

I worked at Ryan, LLC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are on a team that has the support or is managed by the more tenured leadership, this can be a great company with many great experiences for a young professional.

    Cons

As the company has grown, it has become difficult to move up, and politics plays a big role in upper management. Many of the large accounts are managed by partners that have been at the firm for a long time, and get paid a significant amount of money based upon the work of others, and very little of their own effort.

I have been working at Ryan, LLC as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

MyRyan is a reality for lots of employees, and there really is a meritorious environment. Lots of employee benefits, great PTO offerings.

    Cons

Bonuses, and whether one advances or not is based solely on luck of the draw/who one knows. If you get stuck on a team in an industry such as retail, your bonuses will be lower than that of those in Defense Contractors or Oil and Gas. But it's worth the risk. Also lack of Administrative assistants means Associate Consultants, as well as Consultants must do extremely menial tasks for weeks on end.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't forget people on the lower level who drive your company, and remember to communicate on their level, despite the companies lofty future goals.

I have been working at Ryan, LLC full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great workplace flexibility. Office culture is easy going and coworkers are very hard working. Great incentives to work harder; performance based bonuses. Nice location.

    Cons

When I first started it was very hard to balance several projects at a time. There are many moving parts to the process, so you are required to sharpen your attention where it is most needed.
