    Pros

    Employees & manager are awsome. Busy location. Nice people.

    Cons

    3 lights burnt out ( since may), shop needs to be remodeled, outdated, computer VERY slow, Regis wont even let us take a dollar from the til to get a new garbage can, not enough supplies for everyone, not enough pay for stylists, were not students/children/receptionist/electricians/computer technicians. Were hairstylist. We are there to cut hair NOT write down numbers for a WIG board, and to get people's emails/phone numbers. Guests want to come in, get a 10-15mins haircut and leave.NOBODY wants to give out personal information just to get a haircut. Not enough staff on the floor. Loosing money because we have to work alone and guests dont want to wait. cant have any personal photos on the wall or mirors, Not able to book appointments for alot of services. Employees very underappreciated. Been with Regis for 8 years & never had a raise. Thats not right. REGIS needs to educate themselves on taking care of thier employees and guests. They will just continue to loose business if not. Which is a shame because a few of us have alot of customers who would leave if we did. Maybe someone from head office should work in the shop and do 20 guest in a 6hour shift, clean, write down wig numbers, keep track of how many guest u used product on, keep track of how many emails you got & then tell us we don't deserve more money & appreciation. NOT a fun place to work.

And get OUR LIGHTS FIXED. Its pretty hard to cut hair in the dark!!!!!!

    Pros

    It is a full time job. It is nice that some owner isn't breathing down your back.

    Cons

    Extremely low wage. A lot of stress, and responsibility for the work load. They expect you to do 3 jobs, Manager, Stylist & District Leader for little money. As part of the field management team, it is hard to find & keep good employees when wages are so low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    There are a lot of long time employees that have been at a wage freeze for YEARS. You should pay your employees better. They feel unappreciated. It is really hard to survive here with what you get paid. Even the DL pay is below the poverty line.

    Company vehicle, benefits, great contest prizes, fun place to work in the field. ,

    Cons

    Disconnect between home office and the field. No effective communication flow from office to field. In the past year with restructuring, there seems to be some disorganization between the ranks, and poor leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Evaluate your direct level that deals with the field. This level is the key to make your companies mission statement and values come true. If they don't believe and send out negative messages about the future of the company, than you will have a harder time making the teams believe in the initiatives suggested.

    free product free training dont have to pay for color and other materials out of pocket

    Cons

    no set schedule no time off bad pay no diversity no one gets full time so competitive with keeping up with other stylist. all about the money not the employee

    Not enough hours, low commission rates, difficult to get raises, uneven treatment of employees

    I was constantly being reprimanded for silly things. My manager had the poorest technical skills I'd ever seen and would pick out every flaw in the work of others.

    Pros

    Great salon manager that was willing to help me learn as I was just getting my cosmetology license.

    Cons

    Co workers didn't want new stylists being hired in. District manager was rude and down right cruel.
    Pay checks were always off and questionable.
    Never knew when I was scheduled to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Don't fire stylists after only being out of school. Come up with a program for new hires that allows them to grow and develop technique.

    Pros

    I really love working for regis. I have been an employee for 6 and a half years.
    great career progression, you can go into management, education and also the creative team. Good training courses and a lot on offer. Also train managers in HR these days.
    Most salons tend to be in good busy locations do lots of walk in guests.

    Cons

    Unrealistic targets for comission.
    Goal post gets changed for monthly bonus.
    wage for managers are very low compared to othe companies.
    Use to get a lot of incentives where you could win holidays and gadgets, don't do this now due to cit backs.
    staffing tends to be tight in each salon so can be a nightmare when organising holidays.
    have to rely on tips and comission to boost your wage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Make it the way it used to be.
    Review managers pay when they ask, I've not had a pay rise in 5 years when I know the senior management have.
    Some salons needs to be invested in and refurbished

    I love what i do, my location, my co stylist and the guest I serve. "Guest for Life"

    Cons

    Regis pay and the lack of, lack of care and lack of respect for the stylist. The lack of required repairs the company should provides to my salon, the lack of required cleaning services the company should provide to my salon. No money is always the response. No leadership by example.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The management uses "My Salon Listens" as an abusive whipping post instead of a tool to build a stylist confidence. It's a place where customers could leave a complain or compliment. Upper level managers want managers to review the complaint with the stylist you can get 1 complaint and 15 compliments and they focus on the 1 complaint. It is so abusive. In customer service you are going to get complaints but to focus on them like this management team does is over the top. This type of leadership is lacking so much balance. No one grows in this environment. "Regis" your ship is sinking. You' re forgetting about you most useful tool ~ the stylist. "Employer of choice" has no value.

    Pros

    I love my job because of the awesome people I get to work with - stylists and clients included. I enjoy interacting with the various people that enter the salon. I always tell people that there is never a dull moment. I laugh a lot here, but you really need to find things to laugh about. I believe that it is really how you approach the job that will effect your affinity for it. It is definitely not for everyone.

    Cons

    Wherever there are people present, problems are bound to arise. Dealing with the public can be tiresome at times. It wears on you after a while. The pay is not that great either. I've worked at Regis for 3 years, and have never had a raise.

    You really need to look into the needs of your employees before you turn your attention to the customers.
