    Good place to work

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) Dallas, TX (US)

ProsMove up quickly, ability to learn multiple areas, oil and gas is a solid industry, quorum has a successful implementation strategy with aggressive timelines and aggressive clients.

ConsRetention at Quorum is low. They do not try to keep employees who quick. not all clients are easy to work with. The projects can become frustrating, upper management is worried about budgets and not you since they are owned by a private equity firm.

Advice to Senior ManagementUpper management needs to change the way they pay people, keep people, develop new employees, and recognize those that contribute the most at the company.

Good first job after college, but not a lot of potential for growth

Senior Consultant (Current Employee) Houston, TX (US)

ProsAs a college hire I was given training in cpp and sql development, skills that have served well with subsequent employers. I enjoyed the people I worked with and learned great project planning skills. Benefits were also great.

ConsAfter working a Quorum for several years I realized that there is little chance for advancement past the senior consultant / manager level.

    Nice work culture

Consultant (Current Employee) Dallas, TX (US)

ProsNice culture, young, aggressive, fast career growth, good place for recent graduate, if you like to travel a lot then this the right place to work for, diverse projects for lots of Oil/Gas clients, good benefits, salaries are above average, diverse culture, manager are always open for any kind of discussion anytime. Overall is good place to work for, you will be happy if you work for Quorum and making good income as well.

ConsYou will be working at least 12 hours a day, and weekends, lots of traveling, no balance between work and life specially if you have family, work priorities is kind of stressful to some point. Health insurance is expensive for family.

    Good Learning Environment

Consultant (Former Employee) Dallas, TX (US)

ProsGood environment to learn technical side of oil and gas software
Take "non-tech" people and give them time to learn technical skills to apply to client solutions

ConsVery little guidance when first starting out
New employees can feel lost due to being away from the rest of your team that may be travelling

Great Place to Start a Career

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsQuorum, like many companies in professional services, provides opportunities that are both diverse and frequently unachievable in industry jobs. You will be pressed to take more and more responsibility. If things go well and you are willing to work hard, you will find yourself with titles that few of your university peers have achieved. Salary seems very competitive.

The company is doing very well in the marketplace. While certain product areas still have formidable competition, Quorum is ultimately winning more software selections than they lose.

ConsCompany is now owned by private equity and several members of the executive team have changed. Corporate objectives seem to have intensified and the strategies to meet the objectives seem to be a little naive. Management is constantly reinventing the wheel.

High turnover leads to great initial opportunity but little continuous growth.

Senior Consultant (Former Employee) Houston, TX (US)

ProsAs a small company, you really get a chance to get deeply involved in the product support and implementations early on. You are given more responsibilities quickly as you're ready to take them on.

ConsThere is a lot of turnover, so it can be difficult to find people with expertise on certain products. The growth potential also plateaus with a limited number of large implementation projects and continuing education opportunities.

Great career opportunities in stable industry

Senior Management (Current Employee) Houston, TX (US)

ProsCompany culture is similar to small company where everyone is very close. With the company growth, the structure is becoming more solid with well-defined processes being implemented. Because of this, there is a lot of opportunity for folks to contribute to the structure. Your voice is heard and performance is recognized with a very comprehensive 6 month evaluation program. Great compensation for those that perform. Above average compensation for even those that are not top performers.

ConsTypical with consulting companies with higher turnover. Depending on your role, there may be a lot of travel but most of the clients are Houston-based. Overall, very young group.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
