    Pros

    Flexible hours, low stress job.

    Cons

Even though i was making top sales in the region every month since the beginning of my employment there, my first performance review was "satisfactory" only because I didn't have seniority. I thought it was supposed to be performance review rather than seniority review.

    Pros

    the work hours are ok.

    Cons

Office culture at Pearle Vision is very stuffy and corporate even though most of the pearle vision stores are franchised.

    Advice to Management

My suggestion is that office promotions should be on-time and substantial to keep opticians happy and productive.

    Pros

Flexible Hours. The people who work in the stores are great people and the customers are wonderful to work with.

    Cons

There is little to no room for advancement throughout the company and upper management is out of touch with the store associates. There is no room for personal or professional advancement within this company. They boast about how they value the opinions of the store associates but when you voice your opinion you are penalized

    Advice to Management

Try to spend some time in the stores so you know how the stores operate on a applicable level. Upper management creates rules and ideas on how the store should operate but they do not have any experience in the store level.

    Pros

    commission, benefits, free glasses, pay

    Cons

Impossible sales goals and gimmick sales practices
    No support from upper management

    Advice to Management

STOP the buy one get one free sales. It's a scam. If you use insurance you CANNOT get a free pair. Support your store managers and give them hours for a staff, it is absurd that an employee (in most cases the store manager) to be in the store alone from open to close (sometimes 11 hours) because there are not enough hours given to operate the store with more employees.

    Pros

Good commission set up. Franchise locations are more flexible, less rigid than the corporate locations. Room for advancement.

    Cons

Owned by Luxottica, who also owns Lens Crafters. Corporate locations are awful. If you work for a franchise, watch out for change of ownership.

    Pros

Great place to learned about The Optical industry. Your spend a lot of time teaching and helping customer pick the right frames and lenses for their vision needs. Commissions based on your personal sales were decent.

    Cons

    Yearly raise was low.

    Pros

Could work life balance, flexibility to work at your pace and there is no micromanaging. You earn a little commissions.

    Cons

No room for growth. There are hardly any raises. Alot of things are set in stone even though there are efficient way of doing things.

    Pros

Compensation was good and commissions were ok. I enjoyed the training. This company is very much into new technology. Full time employees receive a free pair of glasses each year for themselves or a dependent.

    Cons

This company is not very good with their yearly raise in pay. A person can work as hard as possible, know a good job was done, and still be rated average or below. This company gave the lowest raises I ever had.

    Advice to Management

Positive reviews go a long way to create job satisfaction. It is important to an employee to feel valued by the company.

    Pros

Learned a lot about eyewear, optician duties and diseases of the eye.

    Cons

Seemed ridiculous to automatically preappoint people for the following year, then start calling them to make a "real" appointment. Too much emphasis on saying the same thing to every customer. So much to learn but not a lot of great training.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to spend more one on one time training.
