    Pros

Good salary, tons of training available, paid tuition, and work life balance. Good environment. Life balance. High code of conduct and good benefits.

    Cons

The company is a little top heavy. You get spoiled with the perks there and then working elsewere is unbearable

    Pros

Work life balance is great. The office culture is super and is consistent across all the regional offices.

    Cons

Compensation negotiation was painful. If negotiation is not your strength, get a pro to help.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There needs to be some improvement on compensation conversations.

I worked at MasterCard full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent work-life balance. Seems like a lot of opportunity for younger less experienced employees to get visibility and get involved in many training opportunities. Senior management is looking for new ideas and products to be innovative within the industry.

    Cons

Decision making by some of management is very time consuming. Many people do not want to rock the boat, so there is a lot of looking for a large consensus before a decision is made.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep on trying to have mangers be pioneers when it comes to decision making.

I have been working at MasterCard full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Senior leadership has a great vision for the future of the company and employees have bought in. Strong growth and profitability has allowed for acquisitions to keep pace with the change and innovation. Great benefits, profit sharing and health plan. Great internal communications and resources available to team members. A company with a social conscience.

    Cons

One challenge is the highly regulated industry environment which inhibits rapid development and change. Can be bureaucratic and sluggish to move.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate clear ownership and install processes to accelerate implementation of new strategic initiatives.

I have been working at MasterCard full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

In addition to their solid place in the market, growing revenues and encouraging future, MasterCard treats their employees well, communicates effectively and provides empowerment to employees at all levels.

    Cons

Like any large organization, politics can trump basic common sense with decision making. Also, titles for positions are ambiguous which causes some confusion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While a matrix organization is a great collaborative tool, too many dotted lines or an unclear organizational structure leaves challenges.

I have been working at MasterCard full-time

    Pros

Supportive and progressive culture that drives employees to maximize their capabilities and contributions. Less of the political culture found in other organizations which lends itself better to success. There is a reason it is viewed as one of the best places to work.

    Cons

There is a pace that can be heightened as far as delivery of solutions, but a solution is provided. Can increase the cross communication between business and an ease of corporate navigation can be improved.

I have been working at MasterCard full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

I find a great live/work balance here at MasterCard; I start early and end early...usually 7AM - 4PM. The benefits are top notch with access to a gym and great medical and the company is doing very well overall.

    Cons

On the down side, there is a lot of structure that come along with a bigger, public company...meaning lots of red-tape and reporting to managers.
