    Pros

Full of opportunities for young scientists to grow professionally

I worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work with brilliant researchers, fully financed while earning my master's degree, wonderful coworkers and colleagues, overall a great place to work

    Cons

Some courses weren't the most informative (though this was being worked on as I was leaving), some coursework generally unnecessary for day-to-day clinical physics

    Advice to Management

Even the cons I've listed are the minor-est of gripes - I very much enjoyed my time at Anderson and would work there again

    Pros

The Faculty and Staff in the department I worked in (Neurosurgery) were wonderful.
Clinical people were extremely devoted to patient care.

    Cons

Some departments will not consider allowing staff to work remotely when it actually is feasible based on job tasks.

    Advice to Management

Work with the departments to create career growth plans for all staff members to keep everyone .

    Pros

MD Anderson Cancer Center offers you the possibility of growing and interacting with leading edege technologies and new discoveries. Good work-life balance and benefits.
    International and multidisciplinar atmosphere.

    Cons

Compensation is not too high , NIH standard , but enough to live in Houston
Needed a good mentorship, otherwise there is the risk of getting lost since the institution is so big

    Pros

Benefits are worthwhile, time off is reasonable, and opportunities are endless if you know the right people.

    Cons

Management isn't supportive, their expectations far outweigh what they are willing to pay and the office politics is far beyond what is necessary in a hospital for cancer patients.

    Advice to Management

Be more supportive. The people who do most of the work do know what is necessary to increase efficiency and if you want to succeed, I suggest you at least listen to feedback and give it some thought.

    Pros

Everyone works extremely hard; people will stay after hours to get their work done. Management is great and helpful (if not entirely present). There is ample growth opportunity so long as you work hard and get published

    Cons

Group collaboration in the office is in short supply. Machinery is often broken, which makes it difficult when an experiment needs to get done right away.
