ProsBeing able to get out and deal with customers on a daily basis. Also, providing a service to the community by distributing a commodity.

ConsManagement was very secretive about what was really going on with the company, maybe their way of keeping employees there until the end.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo need to give advice, they ran the company into the ground.

Current situation is not a surprise

ProsHostess had an iconic product still in demand.

ConsManagement failed in so many ways with Hostess, and not just with respect to union contracts. You can't continue to operate the same way you have for 100 years and expect to compete.

Dictatorial, disrespectful, archaic, good ol'boy managment drove hourlies to the union instead of drawing them away.

ProsTo work to improve the culture and make a difference in the management team.

ConsAny improvement attempted is fought at all levels and departments to keep the status quo for fear of raising the bar and possibly the performance expectations.
Extremely low integrity among management. Very low accountability for those not performing.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop expecting the same people who put the company in the position it's in to do any different than they've done since years before the last bankruptcy.
Stop trying to turn the company around with the same people who drove it into the ditch in the first place. It wasn't the union. It was supervision all the way through EVPs that did this.

ProsTop selling product, both bread and cake. People always wanted to buy the product, often times it was difficult to keep stores properly stocked because of the popularity of the product.

ConsWhen a company goes broke selling a popular item like twinkies and cupcakes, something is very wrong. Poor management

ProsIndependence, my customers, the pay (before we were cut back twice).

ConsUpper level mangagement all the way up to the CEO. WHAT A BUNCH OF CROOKS!!!!! I really wish someone from 60 minutes or Crimestoppers would do a thorough investigation into the actions of this company. What a major scandel!!!! They probably were in cahoots with the union as well. And to tell us half way through the day on Friday November 16th that we need to empty off our trucks and not return to work - what a shallow bunch they are! Honestly, how could a company have over 2 billion in sales and loose MILLIONS each year, I guarantee you one thing, they sure as hell didn't share it with the employees!

Advice to Senior ManagementWell, I guess you won. You got your money and can move on. As for the rest of us hard working dependable employees you dumped on the street, I pray for each and everyone of them and their families, no matter what job we get won't be as awful as this one. Thanks.
