    Pros

Great flexibility for working hours and competitive pay package. also very fine environment at job place. no stress, and no worries. Can't feel any kind of work related tension.

    Cons

Poor management and unexperienced staff. Most of the full timers are not willing to learn and adopt new technologies.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefit is decent and working hours is flexible.

    Cons

Not really organized. Upper management doesn't really communicate well with clients and has no business skills to run the whole projects. If you want to get some experience, it is ok place. However, not more than that. Flextronics is a manufacture company but trying to be innovative and trying to be a leader in the tech market.. However, at the end it is a manufacture company.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should know how to run the business and give people more clear directions.

    Pros

No age discrimination; lots of training available at various levels.

    Cons

    Frequent layoffs; Short term orientation

    Advice to Management

Save technical staff even if you don't have immediate projects. Take politics out of decision making

    Pros

Great flexibility and benefits are pretty good. Small company attitude within a big company. From an employee point of view, most of the time it is fairly low stress.

    Cons

Poor management direction and communications. Management is their own little clic and mostly former Nortel (you know how well they did). Small company attitude within a big company. Office environment matches the low cost philosophy of the company.

    Advice to Management

Either throw away the big company attitude or embrace it. Don't leverage it when it appears to fit. Set a clear direction and go for it. Communicate openly with the employees.

    Pros

Typical flex time environment. If you enjoy engaging with various customers, then this is the company for you. Leveraging understanding of operations, design, and manufacturing can be a potential to this organization as all of these are core competencies.

    Cons

Old company mentality with very little new blood. A lot of this mentality is due to recent acquisition of similar firms: Nortel and Solectron. The company focus is to typically acquire companies with potential technology. There may be room to change positions, but the company operates as a small company under the umbrella of a larger organization. There is very little cross-functionality between departments.

    Advice to Management

In short the greatest change that Flextronics could do is invest in their own company as oppose to acquiring new technologies through M&A procedures. There is very little R&D opportunities in this organization which is a hinderance to attracting innovative talent.

    Pros

The type of projects that were worked on varied and allowed PM's to utilize multiple techniques to have a successful project outcome.

    Cons

Each site appeared to function as its own business and there was no real benefit to working together to win business. For those that learned/knew how to work with other sites to acheive success, it was ok.

    Advice to Management

Pick a strategy, staff accordingly, and support your team during execution of the strategy.
