ProsWorking for an industry that saves lives

ConsLeadership refusal to set real expectation and vision that can effectively be communicated and executed.

Advice to Senior Management“Leadership is more often than not about “soft skills” rather than hard skills. Yes, a leader who understands what drives the bottom line is valuable. Yet it’s the leader who can get others to perform at their best who ultimately creates winning organizations.” This aspect of leadership is critical for Angiodynamics to discover in order to put the company back on track. Without it, the company will continue to lose its most valuable assets, its human capital.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Don't do it !

I have been working at AngioDynamics full-time

ProsYou can find a few good people who care still working there. The main reason for this is the economic condition of the area. The time off policy is good and the rest of the benefits are decent.

ConsI have worked for some major fortune 500 companies in the past. The politics here is the worst I have ever seen. Most Managers are more concerned with looking good rather than addressing problems, and they have a lot of problems. Turn over is high because people get very frustrated with the lack of respect Management shows their employee's. If you don't have a Management title , you can't have a good idea. Some seem to ignore problem employee's who should not be in their current role but have been there for some time so they look the other way. Many of the key players lack the social skills needed to be a good leader or mentor. Like many companies, communication is an issue. Chanes to proceedures are "blown through", then employees are held accountable for any errors made.

Advice to Senior ManagementWhat does it say to your employee's when the CEO of the company freezes wages and hiring then stands up in front of the entire company and announces (in his first sentence) "I just got a big fat raise".

Decreased Morale

I have been working at AngioDynamics full-time for more than 3 years

ProsAngioDynamics still as that small company feel, and you, can get lots of experience if you are looking to grow. Also, all of the employees are friendly, which makes it a better environment, even with somewhat poor management.

ConsThe new CEO seems to be very separated from the manufacturing facilities, and recent lay offs as well as a poorly managed merger has resulted in very low morale and everybody worrying about their jobs.

Disfunctional at all levels

ProsLocation in Upstate New York is great. There are a few good people.

ConsA lot of pie in the sky dreaming in upper management while the foundation of the company crumbles. Continuous churn at the executive level is a good indication that things aren't as rosy as they are made out to be.

Advice to Senior ManagementA company is only as strong as the foundation that it is built upon. If you continue to ignore the day to day operations, the business will continue to crumble. Focus on stabilizing the business and then invest in strategic growth. Stay committed to something for more than 6 months.

New Management is a Joke

I worked at AngioDynamics

ProsThere are so many great people at AngioDynamics, although many seem to be leaving weekly.

ConsManagement pretends to care about the employees, but are only in it for themselves. "Town Hall" meetings are a joke, as CEO pretends to care about what the employees think. All of the original management has left or been pushed aside, and the financial performance of the company continues to get worse.

Advice to Senior ManagementGo back to J&J so that new management can get the company back on track!

ProsCurrent employees are a joy to work. Despite poor morale, everyone has a strong work ethic and is dedicated to doing their best given their circumstances.

ConsThere is a disconect between senior leadership and the rest of the employees. This fissure in that relationship seems to be growing larger instead of smaller.

Advice to Senior ManagementNeed to understand current state of employee morale. Acknowledge what it is and its potential effects within the workplace and detail a plan going foward to address critical deficiencies.
