    Nothing to wow about

IT Analyst/Software Developer (Former Employee) Vancouver, BC

ProsThe best thing is that you get flexible hours if you work in IT. You are able to take days off here and there as long as there is no conflict in schedules and you make up for the days in the future. Also, you have a lot of freedom as in deciding on the type of tools that you use in a project. The supervisor would listen to you and value your opinions. Also, they will pay for any relevant courses that you take. This and also the flexible schedules make it easy to grow yourself while you work there.

ConsGrowth in the company is limited and not a lot of variations among the IT projects. This is common to most of the companies who don't sell "IT" as their products, so it is understandable. You work there to improve their IT infrastructure and IT solutions, and that is pretty much it. Other than that, you also work for bosses who are not in your field and therefore a lot of times they don't really value what your contribution is for the company. This translates to the lack of growth in compensation and benefits usually. Also, it makes it harder to communicate with them about your vision and etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementSet up annual reviews for employees and incentives for employees to grow and advance.

    Great location and great people

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsLove the location in suburban Frisco, love the gym located in the office park, love the healthcare benefits and PTO is generous. Like the people I work with.

ConsDepending on your business unit; but mine in particular is very client driven, as opposed to following our processes and systems. It is non-stop, urgent demands from clients.

Great place to learn the Healthcare Reimbursement business.

Team Coordinator (Current Employee) San Bruno, CA (US)

ProsThey are willing to train you.

ConsThere's not alot of room for growth. After you reach the level of a Program Manager, you become stagnant. Growth is not guaranteed by consistency.

Advice to Senior ManagementIncrease yearly promotions of staff.

My experience as a Customer Care Manager at AmerisourceBergen

    Customer Care Manager (Former Employee)

ProsAttractive enviornment; good benefits; tools provided to be successful in job. The company is doing very well financially. Senior Management consist of forward thinkers making the companies future prosperous.

ConsNon-competitive pay; no career track; good old boy system.

It is very difficult to get promoted across business units. The problem with that is there is no career path within any of the business units so in essence, the likeihood of a person not tied into the good old boy system is slim to none.

Advice to Senior ManagementDevelop career paths and promote people from within. Benmark salaries annually. Increase average salary increase percentage for meets and above associates to at least keep par with inflation. Offer bonus at all level of management.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Customer Service

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe company is financially stable in an unstable economy.

ConsCompensation is not competitive with the market. Employees are underpaid; annual increases are nominal even for superior rated employees. The "Good Old Boy" network is alive and well. Most employment is job vs. career oriented; little to no room for advancement.

Advice to Senior ManagementRecognize excellence and reward it. Create career paths for your employes to ensure talent retention.

    Stressful environment

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsSuccessful company with growth opportunity for certain positions. Can be long hours. Good benefits. Expectations of being connected 24/7 with technology.

ConsStressful environment, many unhappy associates, lack of communication and training. Growth opportunities are decided before they are even posted. Creates an environment of distrust and cynicism.

Advice to Senior ManagementBe more open and less secretive. Work on recognition and appreciation for the hard work they receive.

    Better be a rockstar

Financial Analyst (Former Employee) Frisco, TX (US)

ProsLocation is great and most people are amazing to work with. The pay was really good.

ConsIf management finds someone that they prefer for your position, they will just fire you. So you better be a rockstar.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou need to have better communication with your employees and you need to make your employees feel like you actually support them. If one of your employee's job is in jeopardy, it is only ethical to let them know. Don't just fire them and make up some story to get rid of them.

    Career Track

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThis is a good company especially for young adults as there is lots of training provided, and a career track that can lead one to management.

ConsSort of out of touch policies.

Advice to Senior ManagementEverything is not simply black and white -- some differences are healthy. While rules are important, it is also good to have some flexibility to allow for innovation. It is important that certain protocols are met, but a good idea can go a long, long way. This also engages the associates to invest mrs of themselves into their work and to the company.
