Growing company, but not my paycheck!

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Chesterbrook, PA (US)

ProsWell lit parking. The office space is adequate; not indicative of a Fortune 30 company but still adequate. The cleaning crew does a great job keeping the place clean. Benefits are OK, but not the best that money can buy. You can tell that our benefits were picked amongst the low hanging fruit.

ConsEverything is a one-way conversation. They talk to you, not with you. Every single time that the company creates a mess and has to clean it up, they come up with a communication strategy that is a one way feed. They are so desperate to sell you on the message that covers up their incompetence that they've left no room for any type of discussion.

Only friends of friends are acknowledged and rewarded. I just saved the company millions of dollars in litigation costs but I won't even be slapped on the back for doing that. However, if I was part of the click, I would be recognized during the annual ABC Vision and Values Awards. That's how things run at AmerisourceBergen.

The company is growing but not growing our paychecks. We are severely underpaid. If you are on salary, you are basically working for free. Between the travel time and the hours that you have to waste in mindless meetings, you put in time equivalent to three employees.

We are so underpaid that the majority of our employees have to work three hours to be able to afford the copay that they must pay when seeing their primary care physician. They would have to work nine hours to also afford the copay for most prescriptions covered under our drug plan benefit.

The money that the company makes is returned to WallStreet because the powers that be receive millions in stock options. So they must do anything and everything to ensure that shares value is increased.

Even our 401K contributions are a joke. The company claims that it matches up to 5% of your contributions but the formula that they use to calculate that match pretty much gives you roughly $300 a year in company matching contributions. The company provides some rather selective and questionable investment options for employee 401K plans that pretty much ensure that you invest in the company's stock no matter what.

    That's the reality of AmerisourceBergen.

Advice to Senior ManagementNo advice because management does not care about listening and cares even less about employees.

ProsOK place to start if u r new in town

ConsU have 101 micro managers. They really don't care about their employees. U r just a number n a behind in a seat.

Advice to Senior ManagementGrow a heart n have compassion for great employees such as myself

    US Bioservices

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Frisco, TX (US)

    ProsBenefits and cafeteria, friendly associates.

ConsTerrrible management ethics, just terrible management. Abusive to employees psychologically and emotionally. BAD communications. Management has closed thought processes and the onboarding training does not represent the mentality of management. Very seductive and dishonest.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive it up and move on. They are incompetent, disloyal to employees and typical corporate manipulators. If anyone shows promise or a different aspect of thought, they fire them. Time to fire the management staff and get management that is constructive and not destructive to the workforce. It takes approximately three years to profit from an employee. How does this company leave the problem in charge and just keep paying for the turnover?

    Company is going downhill

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

Prosdecent pay, good vacation time offered

Conseverything is being consolidated down to 1 or 2 places. Many Customer Service and System Support positions have lost their jobs yet the call volume is only going up. the departments that are left have no idea what they are doing. Customers are realizing this as well

Advice to Senior ManagementI would hire more people. Call wait times for Customer service are ridiculous

Just another brick in the wall

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGenerally smart people and many are patient access focused. Good industry reputation. Financially strong. Exposure to most of industry. Opportunity to work remotely.

ConsNo work life balance. Management has a passive aggressive borderline personality disorder. HR is a joke. Compensation harmonization - pretty much a middle finger to everyone. Zero growth opportunity unless you are a cultural favorite. Benefits are awful. A new slogan or pep talk every month and it is not working. Constant communication breakdown. IT understaffed, under budgeted and under prioritized.

Advice to Senior ManagementBeen there, done that and even when heard they are not listening. Style over substance.

    Horrible...worked 6-7 days a week

blister packaging operator (Former Employee) Groveport, OH (US)

ProsHealth insurance, benefits....that is all I can say good about the company

ConsStarted at 12.00 and 3 years later was only making 13.30 and I was a blister packaging operator...they paid new people more...also they are very chauvanistic and show a lot of favoritism...management was horrible...upper management only spoke to certain people

Very disappointed is saying it nicely.

Operations Supervisor (Former Employee) Roanoke, TX (US)

ProsGood pay and benefits. There are some tenured employees there that do show a commitment to helping others and the company.

ConsToo many hours worked. Not enough skilled employees. If in management, you work on your days off at home with a company provided laptop. Not a team environment. Key positions don't require a degree, which in turn place unskilled and untrained individuals in those key positions. Turnaround is very high.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain your employees better. Be more involved with your employees. Walk around the facility and get to know your employees to help with their concerns and issues.

Terrible company that might run itself into the ground

Warehouse Associate II (Current Employee) Roanoke, TX (US)

    ProsIncentives to get while working

ConsExtremely low pay raises extremely strict attendance policies, long hours, terrible work environment. The company gains the business of biggest pharmaceutical store in the nation make over 400 million last yr and they decide a 500 dollar bonus is adequate not to mention you actually have to qualify for oh and now I get penalized 15 mins for being late 1 minute yea thats great.
