    I have been working at Amdocs full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    The compensation and bonus plan are well funded, and employees are taken care of well on a daily basis with a refreshment program that provides food and beverages. Contribution matching on RRSPs is a good thing, and also well funded.

    Because other provinces have more holidays given for various observances in Ontario we get two floater holidays.

    Cons

    Since we were purchased by Amdocs our benefits plan is terrible, and we don't even have an option to top it up. There is no employee stock purchase plan.

    The company offers any new employee, even for filling senior positions, two weeks holidays, this is just absurd and means that new employees are often of very low calibre.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Offer more than 2 weeks and you may attract better talent, cut the red tape and bureaucracy, for such a far reaching company with so many physical sites there needs to be a much more decentralized set of processes.

    I worked at Amdocs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Excellent for those who gets an opportunity at a very early stage of their career (within 2-3 yrs of college passout).
    Gets to learn a lot of things technically and also professionally.
    Interactions with teams across the North American continent adding to your knowledge base.
    Good to work for 4-5 yrs..
    If you don't care about your career and just want to earn money, then this place is for you.

    Cons

    - No respect or acknowledgement for the good work contributed. Only appreciated when you leave the company.
    - Bad management.
    - Almost no salary increments.
    - Learning curve reduces as you work more and more. You continue to fix the same issues every month, every release , every year.
    - You continue to grow physically and mentally ...but never professionally as the growth opportunity is ZERO (Most of the existing programmers are close to 10 yrs in the same position and are close to 40).
    - No Promotions. Any vacancies are filled by hiring from outside.
    - You reach a saturation point where you don't know what you are really good at in a global scenario.
    - By continuing to work this way, you will reach a stage where you are not qualified to be a manager (since the only thing you will learn is how to fix the issues) and continue to be a programmer at 35.
    - You can never compete with anyone outside Amdocs, because you don't know anything else.

    Listen to the needs of your developers.
    Give them an opportunity to grow

    Money is the only reason to work for Amdocs

    Long work hours,
    disrespectful managers,
    outdated technologies and software
    no opportunity to grow

    Show a little care for your employees, not only once a year, when you distribute hot dogs

    Good compensation (for some) if you are lucky (belong to the right group).
    Good to have on CV.

    Cons

    Not creative environment. Incompetent management. Top-down micromanagement. Not fair promotions.

    Your employees are often very smart (and initally very motivated). Do not kill the talent; step away when you know you have nothing to contribute.

    Pros

    The compensation is comparable and you'll really stand out if you do your job because most people don't.

    Cons

    Management does not appreciate your work and will make you stay up all night to to do a "really important" task. Amdocs gives you a good idea of what NOT to do on a project. There are a few good managers that will really help you with your career but most do not care at all so at the end of the day, it doesn't matter.

    Treat your employees with respect and judge their work based on what they've done and not how much time they spent doing it. Get to know your employees and understand their interests and skill set so they will be utilized to their full potential.

    Pros

    To be honest I cannot say any.

    Cons

    The business model in Hungary is to buy himself into business. Then squezze people until they quit. After every 2 gone peope assign 50% to the project of a "developer" in a low cost location.

    Amdocs in Hungary is supporting billing sofware for Telecommnication companies. The business was won from HP. At HP 30 people were doing this, the customer was satisfied. After Amdocs took ower 10 people should have done the same output in better quality and less time.

    Considering that:

    - there is no hiring at all. If any, it is only in low cost location. (India)
    - No investment in people or technology to facilitate work or quality. (10+ years old technology unchanged, no trainings, no documentation)
    - It is expected from you to work a little harder often. Unpaid extra hours + unpaid weekend work.
    - After raising the problem to management, nothing ever changed.
    - There are always issues with the reporting codes. Co workers who are enterpreners often get paid late.
    - Customer is getting inpacient/angry for the drop of quality. which is always your fault.
    ( From the 10 people above only 6 were working by the time I left...)

    I think this business is going to terminate soon. Don't join Amdocs in Hungary.

    1- The business model : sqeeze the people until they quit works for the short term only.

    Pays relatively well with good benefits

    Cons

    Not trusted to meet customers without a chaperone
    No trust in middle management to make human resources decisions - everything dictated by global dictates without consideration of local customs
    No value seen in non-core products

    You pay your staff (especially your managers) well - stop micro-managing the and trust them to do their job.
    If you acquire a successful company to complement your current portfolio, understand what it does and how it is making money, Don't just run it into the ground through ignorance.

    flexibility, freedom to develop tools, use language of choice since product company, work culture is good (not work :P) ,Salary is better compared to other service companies.

    Cons

    Work is non technical , completely business, Products already stable , Only customization required,
    Need to multitask, Tight deadlines on project basis, Managers are weak , Growth is slow , Culture is not competitive enough for progressing as per your career.

    Try to retain and value good employees, bring good work, Entire stronghold is in Israel management.

    Good pay, especially for the area.

    Decent amount of freedom on job.

    Cons

    Long hours. Ridiculous at times.
    Poor training
    On call even when not in rotation
    Lack of Americans working there, significant culture difference

    Job Security Is Good,People are friendly

    promotes favouritism, doesnt care about old employees,very low salaries,onsite only for the one who resigned or those who are favourite ,no learning

    Please dont trust Indian Management ,its better when all the things was controlled by Israelis management
