    A company that offers 2 weeks holiday to every hire regardless of experience.

    I have been working at Amdocs full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    The compensation and bonus plan are well funded, and employees are taken care of well on a daily basis with a refreshment program that provides food and beverages. Contribution matching on RRSPs is a good thing, and also well funded.

    Because other provinces have more holidays given for various observances in Ontario we get two floater holidays.

    Cons

    Since we were purchased by Amdocs our benefits plan is terrible, and we don't even have an option to top it up. There is no employee stock purchase plan.

    The company offers any new employee, even for filling senior positions, two weeks holidays, this is just absurd and means that new employees are often of very low calibre.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Offer more than 2 weeks and you may attract better talent, cut the red tape and bureaucracy, for such a far reaching company with so many physical sites there needs to be a much more decentralized set of processes.

    I worked at Amdocs full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Excellent for those who gets an opportunity at a very early stage of their career (within 2-3 yrs of college passout).
    Gets to learn a lot of things technically and also professionally.
    Interactions with teams across the North American continent adding to your knowledge base.
    Good to work for 4-5 yrs..
    If you don't care about your career and just want to earn money, then this place is for you.

    Cons

    - No respect or acknowledgement for the good work contributed. Only appreciated when you leave the company.
    - Bad management.
    - Almost no salary increments.
    - Learning curve reduces as you work more and more. You continue to fix the same issues every month, every release , every year.
    - You continue to grow physically and mentally ...but never professionally as the growth opportunity is ZERO (Most of the existing programmers are close to 10 yrs in the same position and are close to 40).
    - No Promotions. Any vacancies are filled by hiring from outside.
    - You reach a saturation point where you don't know what you are really good at in a global scenario.
    - By continuing to work this way, you will reach a stage where you are not qualified to be a manager (since the only thing you will learn is how to fix the issues) and continue to be a programmer at 35.
    - You can never compete with anyone outside Amdocs, because you don't know anything else.

    Listen to the needs of your developers.
    Give them an opportunity to grow

    Money is the only reason to work for Amdocs

    Good compensation (for some) if you are lucky (belong to the right group).
    Good to have on CV.

    Cons

    Not creative environment. Incompetent management. Top-down micromanagement. Not fair promotions.

    Your employees are often very smart (and initally very motivated). Do not kill the talent; step away when you know you have nothing to contribute.

    Pros

    The compensation is comparable and you'll really stand out if you do your job because most people don't.

    Cons

    Management does not appreciate your work and will make you stay up all night to to do a "really important" task. Amdocs gives you a good idea of what NOT to do on a project. There are a few good managers that will really help you with your career but most do not care at all so at the end of the day, it doesn't matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat your employees with respect and judge their work based on what they've done and not how much time they spent doing it. Get to know your employees and understand their interests and skill set so they will be utilized to their full potential.

    Professional professional procedures
    One of the few Israeli tech companies that is business oriented rather than technical oriented

    Cons

    While Amdocs may once have been an innovative company today they are more concerned about their perception rather than moving forward. They have an innovation department that is not up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in business and technology innovation, which is siloed away from R&D and the corporate strategy. Many
    Because they are so big they won't move and aren't interested in exposure to smaller companies or startups or methodologies that today are taught at the leading business schools (Lean Startup, Kanban, Agile) but weren't popular a decade ago. They look at failing companies like IBM and Comverse for inspiration.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Begin to innovate
    Bring in fresh blood (including people with start-up experience). Very hard for young people to get hired.
    Understand many of your existing employees are resistant to change.
    Expose employees (from all departments) to more fresh ideas

    A large company can grow for a while but once the telecom industry disrupts, Amdocs is doomed. It'll be around in 3 years but what about the next 30?

    Pros

    Start Pay is Average
    Benefits are Average
    Facility varies but generally actual company facilities are nice, well kept and coffee, tea, and various snacks are available regularly

    Cons

    Unofficial culture of we do not care how it gets done as long as it gets done which allows for incompetent and lazy workers to be carried by others.
    Bonuses and raises are not frequent and generally not much
    Promotions are even harder to come by and aren't always based on the best possible applicant, nepotism, nationalism and favoritism are rampant
    Work life balance in the project I work in is across the board unreasonable
    Upper management does not back their people and often makes decisions to their teams detriment they are apathetic and very quick to tell their people just how replaceable they are
    No friendliness towards coworkers no sense of community at all, often people will segregate themselves according to country/region of origin. People will not engage with you unless you are on their team or they wish to join your team.\\
    Evaluation system is an absolute Joke

    When new Understand the processes before making major changes to them as not doing so can have unintended consequences
    Appreciate a good employee and reward people based on merit

    Pros

    There are no Pros in the present scenario of this company.

    Cons

    Day by day its going down with regards to employee care and other organizational policies.For people working in Support its as good as they are in HELL.Promotions are hard to come and with a new policy coming recently it will even stop in the coming years.Work pressure is extreme and will only increase and with minimal resources the organization wants 100% results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Perks have been excellent when i joined and in the present scenario they can be considered still good if compared to the industry practices.Office culture is nice with lot of employee engagement activities being done so that the employee is not only bogged down with work.Group leader/team leaders can be termed as HITLERS where they pretend to know everything but actually know nothing!! Advice to Senior management will be "Please AWAKE". With your Unethical policies you are making a really bad name for AMDOCS outside which some years ago was a dream company to work for many of us.From last ten years in INDIA Amdocs just went to 3.4 Billion dollar starting from 3.2 billion dollar company.Management needs to concentrate more on this rather than bringing irrelevant practices .

    A good place to gain some experience.

    Cons

    Work environment is really frustrating from all point of views:
    1. Most of the management couldn't care less about their employees and that's ok, i mean, they are not my friends but my bosses but at least show some respect to your employees and make them feel that you are not a slave.
    2. The offices are bad, really bad.
    3. No promotions - forget about it at least for the first 4 years.

    You do not have to respect your employees or their needs but at least try to show that you do.
