    Very disorganized and unpleasant experience. Started quite standard with an initial phone screening and a conversation afterward with the hiring manager and the VP. Oddly they indicated to me that there were two other roles that I was being considered for that I did not apply to. By the end of both phone interviews (hiring manager and VP) I was told that they wanted to fly me out. Heard nothing from either or the recruiter for 3 weeks. Then received an email message from the recruiter that I was no longer in consideration but suggested I apply elsewhere. Total waste of time, I do not mind not being chosen but the "cone of silence" treatment for so long is unprofessional.

    I applied online, to an interview located at a job fair. It was a first round interview, with 30 minutes allotted time to speak with a person in management. The whole process was pretty straight forward, with the majority of the time spent in behavioural interview questions. Mostly very broad questions that focused on soft skills that would be applicable to the company/position.

    Got an email from HR, and the process (until the final round of interviews) took about 3 weeks. First interview is a screening call from HR, followed by a skype call by a manager, then a face to face interview with the hiring manager. Only during the last interview I was informed about requirements of the position that were not listed on the job description posted on Expedia Jobs website

    I applied through college or university – interviewed at Expedia.

    Interview Details

    I went through three interviews. First a screen phone call, had about three questions about revenue management like revpar. Second was a Skype interview with the regional director, pretty standard questions. Third interview was in person at their office. The interview was an hour and was only role play involving sales type questions. I was able to answer most of the questions asked but some where hard to answer solely because I've never been in a market associate position. I didn't like how the interview was only role play for an hour, it doesn't give an accurate picture of the position or my skills.

    From start to finish the interview process took over a month.

    This have been one of the longest processes I have ever experienced applying for a job. I had HR recruiter leave me an message advising me that he wanted to speak with me regarding an Market Associate position, I promptly called him back and followed up with an email but did not get a response until two weeks later. After speaking with HR and going over my qualifications I was advised that I was over qualified for that position and that he thought I would be a better fit for the Associate Market Manager position, I was advised me that someone would give me a call to set up the next faze. After, another week I finally received the email with the time and date for the next interview. The tech portion consists of Revpar questions, math questions etc. I spoke with Bonnie and she was very nice, and although she was giving me role play questions, they weren't hard and I could tell Bonnie was a true professional. Two days later I received a email stating that I passed the tech interview and I will be moving to the face to face faze. After giving the recruiter my availability I was told that I would hear back from him by the end of the business day. After a week of not hearing anything I started to call and email him and in the process I had other recruiters with Expedia reach out to me. However, when I advised them that I was working with someone I was advised they could help me and someone will contact me. After three weeks I received a call that the company had restructured and he was no longer my recruiter but the person that would set this up will give me a call within the next week. I finally received a email stating that their was not have anyone available to interview me because of the holiday weekend.. Two weeks later I finally received my face to face interview and honestly it was a pleasure speaking with professionals, at the end of the interview I was advised that I would hear back within the next few days. Seven days later I received an email that I should hear back one way or the other in a week because they had not interviewed everybody because they were behind... As, of today I am still waiting for an response but I am told by the recruiter to have a little more patience. I am still being considered for the position. I have never experienced anything like this in my life.... Seems like a great company to work for but the process shows me that I have more determination that I thought....

    Sent in a resume for a pre screen through a college recruiting site. Had a phone interview and in an person interview within 24 hours of each other. The interview was very good. The person conducting the interview was kind and laid back. I felt immersed in the culture of the company and comfortable to answer questions in an honest way.

    I was recommended for the position through a third-party staffing agency. I met with the staffing agency for an overview of the position, did one phone screen with the hiring manager at Expedia, and did one onsite interview with the direct manager and the program lead. The phone screen consisted of the standard "Tell me about yourself," "What interests you in this position," "Where do you see yourself in 5 years" questions. The onsite interview was less formally structured -- the program lead read my resume, and asked in-depth questions about how I approached my work. Seemed like a positive, balanced office environment.

    Interview Process

    Questions were :

    1) Find if a string is rotation of another string ex. abcd , dabc is rotation of abcd
    2) Find min distance between two character in a string ex. a x c a e r r a d e min dis between a and e is 1

    Interviewer was good . He asked me to describe first approach and then write neat code for both problems. He was not in hurry and gave me sufficient time to think the approach and write code.

    Interview Details

    I was contacted via an Expedia recruiter asking if I was open and looking for new opportunities. I said yes, and we got the ball rolling.

    Phone Screen:
    The first was a technical phone screen, nothing new here. I was asked about things on my resume for the first 30 minutes and then had a technical question for the last 30 minutes.

    I got a callback the next morning asking for an on campus interview. The recruiter and I emailed back and forth and scheduled an interview for the next week. A recruiting coordinator emailed me to confirm and gave me a schedule of who I was interviewing with and the times.

    On Campus Interview:
    I was scheduled for 5 different interviews back to back. When I arrived and checked in, I was given a packet with my interview schedule and nice articles about what a great company Expedia is. I hadn't noticed until later that my list of interviewers had slightly changed (will be relevant later).

    First and second interviewer were normal, asking me about my resume and then there were some technical questions.

    My third interviewer was 30 minutes, (he wasn't on my original interviewer list so I assumed he got the notice last minute), but because of that it pushed my next interviews shorter and later as well. I believe since this interviewer wasn't prepared he gave me a technical problem that I thought was a little hard for a technical interview. (String permutation, I have made additional comments below about it).

    The fourth and fifth interviews went as normal as they could after.

    My fifth interviewer had told me I would receive a response within 3 days, unfortunately (as I expected), I had not heard anything in a week. It was only after I had emailed the recruiter again that she got back to me, saying that it was a no.
